Smoothies are a great way to start your day!
Rise and Shine! Smoothies are a great way to get your morning started, especially if you are a “breakfast-on-the-go” kinda person like me!! Just blend and take it with you. Smoothies can also be beneficial as a post-workout snack with a scoop of protein powder added for the repair of your muscles. My collection of clean Smoothie recipes are made with all organic ingredients. Each drink is packed with wholesome fruits, greens, antioxidants, super foods and proteins.
I usually always add greens to my smoothies, whether it be spinach, kale, parsley, swiss chard, cilantro…. But the kids don’t always like it when they see “green stuff” in their smoothies. Here is a great anti-inflammatory recipe that you can do Sans green, or add a little spinach if it’s not for the kids.
CHERRY BOMB: (tart cherries are a great anti-inflammatory fruit!)
12 fresh, pitted cherries (frozen work great too when they are not in season!)
5 fresh strawberries (again, frozen work great)
*Optional* 2 handfuls of spinach leaves
1 large spoonful of vanilla Greek yogurt (can omit completely if you are on a no-dairy diet)
1 spoonful of almond butter
1 Tbsp. Chia seeds
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
